Psalm 33
Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous;
it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
Praise the LORD with the harp;
make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
Sing to him a new song;
play skillfully, and shout for joy.
To me, these verses set the standard for music ministry. Firstly, we are here to give honor to the LORD. Secondly, it is important that we strive to use whatever gifts we have in the most excellent way possible. We should aim to “play skillfully”.
